Day 77: Iceland and Pylsur

Gott kvöld, Raffies!

Today we are going to Iceland!
One of the most common dishes is Pylsur, which is basically a hot-dog, but an Icelandic one.
I decided to skip the rotten shark, hákarl, the roasted sheep skull, svið, or some nice puffin, lundi - mostly because I am unable to come by those ingredients. During my trip to Iceland, I had tried the rotten shark, which was weird, and the puffin, which made me feel guilty, even though it was delicious.
Well, pylsur is a dish you can find everywhere in Iceland. And since we are in our food challenge, we are not going for the bought sausage, but we made it from scratch, thanks to this awesome recipe!

Together with the sausage and the bun, I made a remoulade, some honey-mustard sauce and homemade ketchup.
It was amazing! And it reminded me of my trip to Iceland. The only time in my life, I was lucky enough to see the Northern lights.

Love,

Raffi
